This album I see as a sort of sequel to Aliens. It gives an idea of what the life of an immigrant would be like. From the hard work faced by the Irish to the loneliness felt on both sides, the pain of those left behind and the patience and dedication of those trying to make better lives for themselves.
I can't help comparing this album to Aliens. Again it is essentially a Rock album, also with a strong trad/folk influence. I find it a lot "softer" than Aliens. A shared responsibility of violin/flute and mandolin seems to have been a maturing process from the strong flute lead in Aliens.
